To most people Nicky Vaughan seems like a quiet kid, not the kind of person who you would think would be the lead guitarist for a punk band. He plays electric guitar in a three-person punk band called Divided Youth. His band is made up of him and two of his friends: Layne who plays drums, and Bryce, who plays bass. The band has been active for four months now and have had one performance so far, but they are hoping to have two or more by the end of the school year.

He began playing guitar when he was six years old, and he dabbles in other instruments such as drums. He claims that his dad inspired him to play music. They have been playing together since Vaughan was young. 

Vaughan is strongly influenced by other music groups. He said his favorite band is The Beatles: “The Beatles over everything because they have so many melodic senses to them and they were an amazing band.” He said his dad would always play old Beatles records for him at a young age and he grew up with a passion for music due to that.
