Civitas students will host Earth Week events on the outdoor stage at lunch April 7-11.
On April 11 there will be an Earth Day Fair with tables from different environmental organizations from across Sacramento, according to event co-coordinator senior Katie Hickey. The fair will be open to all students during lunch, and organizers are inviting a limited number of classes to come during fourth and fifth periods.
“These events are designed to connect students with local environmental groups and inspire a passion to protect the environment by learning more bout the variety of issues affecting our community,” Hickey said. “Each group will have an activity or information about their work so there will definitely be something for everyone.”
Teachers can contact Hickey or her co-organizer senior Charlotte Ponder about bringing their class. There is also an Earth Day photography contest, which students can enter here.
